  1. Find more experienced people to ride with.

I've worked at a ski resort for 5 years, the best way to improve is to be as daring as possible while being smart about it too.  if the only way to ride with better riders is to take a private lesson, take a private lesson, get to know the instructor.  most of them are pretty good guys (and gals) and would'nt mind riding with you on their off time too.

Other than that I reccomend going to a camp, there are many snowcamps to choose from so choose carefully.

  2. Practice and find people who are experienced at that resort to ride with.  Keep taking new trails, once you have the turning and stopping down start going down all the trails you can, then take a lesson with an instructer and learn how to go down tree runs, make sure this is a very powdery day.  A few inches of new snow is always good for exploring new territory.  Go down all the greens, then all the blues then ask people who know the mountain, (ski patrol, instructers) what is the next most challenging trail.  Figure out where your tough areas are and try to improve.

  3. practice practice practice!!!  when i was learning i would fall all of the time, and the key for me was to hurry up and get back on my board, and off my butt.  there is a saying that goes "if your not falling hard your not trying hard" i think it holds true.  lessons are good, but they arent necessary for all beginers!!  be the ONE! Git' R' Dun'

  4. Practice, and if your underwieght gain some wieght or you'll break your arm.. i found that out the hard way

  5. Get good enough to become an instructor then get a job at a resort.  Most places require the staff to train (or session as we call it) on a regular basis.  You will be surrounded by people who are better than you who can help you get better.  You will be challenged to improve continually.

  6. The old saying holds true...practice makes perfect!  Get out there - the more you ride the better you'll get...it's a natural progression.  Just remember to push yourself and your limits a little - not too much tho, you don't wanna get seriously hurt as that tends to put a bit of a damper on things!
