  1. Make sure you do tummy time well after he eats or before.  It is normal for babies to cry during tummy time, not too many babies enjoy it.  Try and make it a routine to do it everyday for a couple minutes.  Eventually, he will start pushing himself up and later start crawling.  Woohoo!!!!

  2. Start slowly. make sure he's in a good mood is not tired or hungry. One minute on his tummy even if he cries. The next time try a tiny bit longer. If he puts his head down turn it so he's not face down after a few times he'll learn how to do it himself and it won't be so uncomfortable. My son also hated tummy time. my daughters were on their tummies straight away but he cried etc. so I felt bad whenever I tried putting him on his tummy. At four months I realised I must do something so I did what I told you. He is exactly five months old now and holds his head and chest up really nicely as well.

    Good Luck.

  3. just keep trying my son hated tummy time anytime i put him on his tummy he would just cry he didnt care for it much til he learned to roll over and then he would roll over anytime i put him on his tummy. but just keep trying and give it time

  4. Oh my gosh girl, FORGET the TUMMY TIME!!! My doc tried to pressure me into it with both my kids and both boys hated it so much that I didn't have the heart to do it. And guess what - they turned out fine!!! It's an absolutely useless and redundant exercise and it's too much weight for their little necks. Don't put your son thru it, there's no point.

  5. Keep trying. Consistency is the ONLY thing that works with babies and toddlers.

  6. You'll have to keep trying.  Get a mirror and put it on ground level so that he can look at himself.

Yet, I don know what you are talking about...even this didn't help me with my first child, some children will not do tummy time.

My first one would wail, and rub his head back and forth until he gave himself rug burns on the tip of his nose and the top of his forehead.  He never did lift his head up and look up.

But today, he is fine and doesn't have any problems with his neck muscles.  Some babies just don't do everything by the book lol!

If waving toys, getting down on your tummy infront of him and talking to him, or the mirror doesn't work after a couple of weeks then I wouldn't continue to push him to do it.  Not a big loss.

  7. they had a toy out when my kids were babies.  i can't think of what they called it but, my kids loved it.  it's a tummy time activity thing.  it lights up and plays music.  it has buttons that you push to and it plays like 5 different songs, spins around and lights up.  it's going to take time for him 2 get used to it but, he'll eventually stop.
