  1. KoRn did the trick for me.

  2. strech

eat a good...healthy meal no mcdonalds

    have water with you

    warm up drills

listen to some good music to get you pumped!

  3. stretch out, warm up, drink plenty of water or some sort of sport beverage. Pump up with some music, focus on the game and mentally picture the game. Eat at least 2 hours before the game, nothing to filling but enough to give you energy for the game. NO MILK, I don't know why but that rule has been preached to me from day one!

  4. Like the screen name, my friend.

Eat a good meal and drink A LOT of water. Music is always good too.

  5. Make sure you have plenty of salsa, guacomole dip and chips and beer. Turn the phone on vibrate so nobody annoys you during the game and get comfy in your fave beanbag, sofa or chair.

oh wait! You mean PLAYING  hockey not watching it..ok nvm...  eat healthy  drink H2O and no beer or s*x with puck bunnies 'til AFTER  the game.

  6. All good advice.  Proper hydration, water is best, not too much however, try a 24 to 36 oz slowly, over the 2-3 hour period prior to playing, because you don't want to be running to the bathroom often and it can slow you down like eating the wrong meal. Also it is important to drink less as you are participating.  You want to keep from getting dry mouth out there by swallowing a bunch of water, hence you see the guys spitting out there all the time.  Again, just enough to keep from getting dry mouth. You want to start a few hours before game/practice time to prevent cramps first of all.

Next step is to take plenty of time to stretch properly, all the muscles that you will be using especially your legs and groin.  Your groin, (which is a tendon, I believe, not a muscle) is most important as it is what is used to move your legs and the rest of your body. you want to eat sensibly.  Eat foods such as pasta that provide fuel/energy.  Salads, proteins such as chicken and fish. Stay away from eating beef, as it is harder to digest and your body will likely use a lot of energy to process.  Fruits and veggies are good too.  Just remember, you want to eat sensibly, you can eat like a horse soon after participation.

I like the music idea, as it was stated, it helps to "pump you up" for the game and even practice.

Over these couple hours, it is key nowadays to "see" or "imagine" yourself playing, so you can focus and concentrate on what is going to happen, it puts you in the right frame of mind.  The last thing you want to do is be thinking about other things than your game.  Think of preparing for an important exam/lecture,  if you don't think about the notes or class discussions, you're apt to do poorly, and you DON"T want that happening. Remember your responsibilities, nothing else should get in your way.  You are playing or your team and yourself nobody else After all this, you should be ready perform at your best.  Go out there and show, as a member of your team, what you are there for.  Good luck!
