Whats the best way to get stains out of your carpet without spending a whole lot of money?

Like just juice and food stains? I mean more in the way of cleaning products than home stuff but that is fine too.

I second Spot Shot.  It is a great product.

Also, Woolite's Oxy Deep is excellent.

Use plain old cheap 99 cent shaving cream. I used it on my carpet for set in stains and it worked wonders. Spread some on the spot, let it set for a few minutes then scrub with a brush, then blot it with a damp paper towel, then dry it. It really does work!!!

I use oxiclean to get stains out

or

Oxiclean laundry stain remover spray

spray it wet with it then press a white towel on top by stepping on it, then let it set there for an hour or so. then lift up the towel and the stain will be gone. I clean many carpet stains this way! Or mix 1/2 cup oxiclean powder with a couple pints of hot water to dissolve it then pore on stains and use the towel. That works also.

Sometimes all you need is to wet the stain with cold water and press the towel on top for a while.

~~Steam cleaning is the best and you can rent a Rug Doctor for about $25  at Home Depot. If you want to spot treat, the best remedy beats all store stuff I ever bought. Take 3 parts of hydrogen peroxide to three drops of dish washing soap. Mix together then sponge over the stains. Let it sit one hour, then wipe clean with a clean cloth and water. The stains magically disappear. Most carpet is colorfast, but just in case-do a test on an inconspicuous spot first.~~

try to get as which as you can up when you spill. If it,s dry put on unseasoned meat tenderizer leave on 24 hours then vacuum.I don't like too many cleaning products. Some have a smell or leave an oil ring that can a tracks dirt.
