I have so much power but i cant figure out some drill that will have me get great timing. I know it all depends on the set, but if anyone knows any great thing that helped them, please share :)

  1. first you need to work with your setter on where you want the ball...that's probably the most important part...then you need to figure out your arm slot and make sure you extend your arm...timing is really all about your approach and the spot of the ball...you need a consistent setter to really have perfect timing so you don't need to fool around with your jump...but its not just on your shoulders you need to work with your setter as well

  2. Many of my coaches have told me to start the 3-step approach when the ball reaches its highest point, but the sets are inconsistent, so this doesn't really work.  Timing really comes with practice, so I would work with your setter as much as you can to get it right.

  3. okay it depends what kind of setter you have and whats her height if shes shorter you may want to slow down and if shes taller pick up the pace. AND you wait for the setter to set the ball wait for to come down then do your steps(depends if your left handed or right handed.) and hit.and you jump to get momentum.

  4. Practice! Practice! Practice!

    Ecspecially with the setter.

That's the only advice I can give.

If your hitting outside you leave when the ball hits the top of the peak.

If your hitting middle then when the ball hits the setters hand.

For quicks in the middle, you trail the ball.

But the more practice and expiernce, the more you just get used to it and you'll be able to read the set.

    Good luck. =]

  5. It depends on what type of hit.  The bump is simple to time.  The set is alittle more trickier.  The spike,You just have to use your eyes to time the hit.  When it looks like you can reach the ball,You jump and swat it.  The serve is alittle harder for you have to toss the ball up in the air just right and then wait for it to come down to hit it.  With every sport in life,It just takes practice to get better.  Practice makes perfect,JellyBeanGurl.  I hope I have helped you in some way.  If not,Then I am very sorry.  Have a great night and I can't wait to hear from you real soon.  Bye,JellyBeanGurl.

  6. find where the ball peaks after being set

then quickly step left, right two feet and jump.

    its all about counting.

    move towards the ball.

you might want to use you non hitting hand to guide you to where the ball is.. . (if you know what i mean)

    but really, it takes practice.

i pratice my counting at home on this low ceiling, perfect for where the ball should be.

i pratice my steps and jumping to hit it.
