Whats the best way to get to Camp Pendleton, CA???

Im flying in to the San Diego Airport for my husbands homecoming. I have to get form there to Camp Pendlton and i dont know the best way to do it. I cant rent a car cause im only 20. and i have to do something thats within a reasonal price. I've never been there before so i have no idea how to get to base... PLEASE HELP...

The bus will take you to Oceanside and from there you can hop on a bus that will take you to base.

Take the city bus. It has transfers all the way to Camp Pendleton

Camp Pendleton is a good one hour drive from San Diego Airport even in light traffic.  You should arrange transportation before you get there.  A taxi would cost you a fortune.  There should be some family support people there to help you.  Talk to some military reps from Pendleton by phone if you can.  I don't see my Marine Corps just leaving dependents to fend for themselves like that.

i am not sure how far away the airport is..but maybe take a taxi? also you could talk to some of the army wives and see of any of them would pick you up and bring you to the base. also...no one can give you directions to the base over the internet (OPSEC)..you should look up on your homepage and see if they say anything about homecoming. they will most likely have a number for rear d..call them and get all of the info that way. hope you have a good time with your hubby!

You can take the Coaster train most of the way up. It's a good hour + drive from the airport to Camp Pendelton so be prepared for a long trip. The base is located in Oceanside if you didn't already know so you can also mapquest that for alternate routes.
