Whats the best way to install this SP3?

I have laptop pre installed os.home xp.

Do i need the NTbackup file..?

hi, have done many sp3's, with no problems..... all i recomend, is to go to dos, type chkdsk /f and reboot, make sure you have no errors working, then install avg and do a full system scan, then download the entire sp3.... not from win update, so you can run it locally...
