  1. rollar skating is different from ice skating.. rollar blading you are dealing with wheels set up like a car's wheels, and I suggest you start with these. They are simple to get used to and blades aren't that much different. the only two things different are the lining of the wheels and where the brakes are. on rollar skates, the brakes are in front and on blades, you have only one brake and it's usually on the right side in back. And blades' wheels are in a line (that's why they are called in-line skates)

rollar skating is kind of like walking on wheels. Turning is a little harder (in my opinion) on skates than on blades. I can't remember how to turn on skates, but rollar blading is leaning the direction you want to go. Get good on skates, then get yourself a pair of in-lines.. in-lines are a little bit different than skates, you can't just walk on them and make them go. It's also balance that keeps you upright.

There are neat ways to stop on in-lines without using the brakes, and you should learn a couple of them so you can get used to not having to use your brake.. it takes a lot of time, and a lot of practice for it to be this way.

then move on up to ice skating.. the difference is that you have a thinner coverage on the ice than you do on the road with in-lines, and you use the front of the blade to stop.. this is the only thing I haven't done.

  2. You could take lessons, but it'll cost you. It's not hard to teach yourself though.

You can probably go to an ice rink, there's sure to be one somewhere in London. Ice skating is similar to rollerblading, and even easier in some ways because ice rinks are flat. They also have edges which you can skate close to, so you can grab on if you start to fall.

The most important things to remember are to be light on your feet, and to keep your legs relaxed, and bend them slightly, lean forwards a little (do NOT lean back!) and try to avoid looking at the ground, tempting though it may be. Let each 'step' be slow, long and graceful (avoid quick-stepping), and keep your weight centred over whichever foot is in contact with the ice/ground. Just practice, basically, and you'll pick it up. Just like anything else.

And don't worry about looking silly in front of everyone at the skating rink; noone cares.

  3. practice !!!

i started off doing it in my house then when outside (while holding on to things now i can do it )

but if you learnt to ice-scate that would be better coz its harder , most pplz get the hang of it after 1 or 2 times

  4. buy a cheap pair of roller skates or roller blades and practise inside on the carpet in your house (if possible). After about a week you will be confident enough to go outside. It is easily to learn.

If you want to learn to ice skate look up and find your local ice rink and book yourself a lesson.

Like with anything, it just takes a bit of practise.

  5. www.youtube.com

    www.megavideo.com

    www.google.com > search aol video

    www.google.com/video

you will find videos on them to teach you

    hope this helps :)

  6. Go rollerskating with someone who knows how to do it properly and let them show you the techniques of rollerskating. It is fun, but, you will fall a lot in the beginning.

    Practise makes perfect.

Ice skating will take more time to learn, so just do one at a time. Master one and then move on to the next.

  7. Buy a paid of Rollerboots and practice or go to your local ice rink everyone has to start somewhere and you will only get better with practice don't be embarrassed. Even if you start of practicing roller skating around the house until you are more confident will help - I take my sons to park with my roller blades they love it - Have lots of fun
