Whats the best way to learn to weld ? Just buy a systems and practice ?

I'm not looking to welding as a careear. just more or less as a hobby. So should I just buy a welding system and have at it or is there another way ?

Look into community colleges for adult ed.night courses.

Could be what you need since they teach basics in vaious

welding techniques.

You get to use their equipment & see what your needs are before buying.

Fine for hobby , arts & crafts welding & good basics if you want to take it further

Welders aren't cheap,so it could end up an expensive hobby.Why not offer your services free/cheap,at one of the welding yards around your area first,tell them you'll work as a boilermakers TA.Then you can learn free.
