Whats the best way to make a camcorder waterproof?

I need to swim across a pond with my camcorder to get to a little island where theres cliffs.and so my friends and i plan on jumping off but i need to find a way to be able to bring it so we can film.i was thinking like wrapping it in a few bags but i dont really feel like taking the chance of ruining it.

you can buy an underwater casing somewhere online.  That way you can also shoot underwater.
