oh and dont listen to the person below me youtube is the number one career killer!! I was having a private session with a very successful casting director and he said putting up videos on the internet will ruin your career and every audition he gets through youtube he deletes or if he searches the people he has had audition with on youtube and they have put up any videos he wont even consider them so dont do it!!!

A good way to practice is doing monologues for sure :] I think you should film yourself doing monologues and put the videos on youtube to get feedback, suggestions, and help on what to work on. Plus, people will tell you straight-up if you suck or not. & You can monitor your progress that way.

You can practice monologues but the best way is by working with others. Take classes or appear in productions.(Audition at your local community theatre or school) The more you do the more you will lear.
