  1. Anyone can get "financial aid" through the fafsa application in the form of federal student loans.  You will not need a cosigner and will not have to pass a credit check.

You do not need your parents permission to get a student loan either.  The maximum a freshman can borrow now has recently went up to 5500 a year.  If the 6,000 is just for one semester, I suggest you attend a cheaper school.  One less than 5500 a year.

    Good luck!

  2. Get a student loan.  If you can't get a federal loan, check out Sallie Mae.  Definitely NOT your best option, but unless you stand on a street corner (just kidding), you're probably not going to come up with that much money by August.

  3. When you say that "your financial aid did not go through", you probably mean that you were not awarded free money.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that loans are not financial aid. They are and almost everyone in the US has to use them to get a degree.

College is a privilege , not a right and if you can not afford to go to the school that you want to, you might have to attend a community college for 2 years and work full time to make ends meet.
