Whats the best way to sell art in Madrid Spain...?

My friend is an artist and I want to know the best way to begin to sell his paintings or sculptures....?

any thoughts or help is appreciated.

Does he live in Spain?  or are his works Spanish themed?  I know of a little shop in the Plaza Mayor that the only work they sell is done by artists who live in Spain.  Their nation of origin is unimportant, and most of the work in the shop had a Spanish theme.  I would have to do a little research to find its name.  It was featured on Samantha Brown's show, and we went in there...kinda pricey, but nice.
