Whats the best way to take and count inventory?

I am in charge of taking inventory of my parts department at an RV service center this year. I have rougly $75,000 in parts to inventory. So I need to determine whats the best way and most efficent way i can single handedly do inventory. I know it's going to be alot of work, but im prepared for that. Any suggestions or comments will be very helpful

It helps if your parts inventory has been computerized at some time in the past so you can print out a list of the parts and quantities you SHOULD have.  If you don't have that, best bet is to create a spreadsheet where you can list each part and a description and cost/retail price (whichever you feel is important for the inventory) as you count the stock, then list the count for that item.  

    Once  you have the count completed, go to your computer and enter the data into a spreadsheet or database.  If you don't have an IT staff, use the spreadsheet.
