I'm going to Turkey for two weeks, and my boyfriend is in Morocco. I have an english sim card, and he has a moroccan sim card. I also have a moroccan sim card which does not have any money on. I don't know the best way to call him, as I know its going to cost a bomb if I call him on my english phone!

Any ideas?

  1. Skype is apparently very good, never used it myself but if you've both got computers it's worth a look!

Edit: My friend uses it all the time to talk to a friend in Bahrain!

  2. The moroccan sim card would be the cheapest, but you'd have to put some money on it, which might be a problem if its eating into your holiday money!

You could just drop each other an email as and when you can get to a computer, or have a few texts each day - they take a while to be delivered, but they're alot cheaper.

Alternatively, if you've both got access to a landline in your respective countries (you should do if your in a hotel) then you can buy a phone card to each others countries, and that is really cheap.

There is a new sim card called Blyk, which is completely free, but you have to recieve adverts from various companies.. not entirely sure if it works abroad though, but its worth having a look into.

If all else fails, you could do it the romantic, old fashioned way and write each other letters =] ok, it not instant, but you'll be thinking of each other, and they're fun to read when you get back =]

    Have a nice holiday =]

  3. TURKCELL AND TELSIM AND AVEA

  4. I woulds recommend you the easiest way to communicate nowadays, by chatting, it is going to be cheap and effective

  5. learn telepathy

  6. You can buy phone cards at a post or the airport.  They are for the payphones.  I think 50 credits is 3 or 4 Turkish Lira at the post and 6 at the airport.  You are connected to a payphone, but it is the cheapest way to call overseas. There are pay phones are all over Istanbul and other large cities.

If you want to use the cell phones, go to Turk Cell and buy a sim card.  I think I paid 40 lira to refill it for 250 credits.  I'm not sure how much the original card was, but Turk Cell has a good web page (the english one) and it should have the prices.  You want the Hazır Kart plan and there are Turk Cell locations all over.

  7. Webcam through Msn

  8. Smoke signals?  Telepathy? Rob a bank so you can afford the calls?

    Hope that helps.
