  1. have flash cards so they can see it

    make it to a song

    make it fun

    and do it over and over till the children get it


  2. You can use any materials available.From my experience i used phonics for my son. Any method of phonics will help, but the most important is to ask your kid read the sound of the alphabets everyday without missed. This is the way i have tried to my son. By God willing your kid will remember the sound of the alphabet fluently.

  3. The "Leap Frog" series of DVD's are GREAT for this!  They do catchy little songs that the kids LOVE.  My two year old learned a lot of her sounds with these.  They are reasonably priced too!

  4. Make poems and chants about each sound.  Open Court has fun ones that most schools use.  These chants have gestures and rhyming chants so kids remember them.

    /m/ /m/ /m/ yummy yummy...etc.

  5. well, u can use pictures to explain like 'a' as in apple, 'b' as in ball.... and etc...

    try to make it into a sound it helps............

  8. Singing the praises of Leapfrog Letter Factory DVD!!!!!

    They have a fridge magnet thing too that is pretty great as well. Both my kids knew the sounds and letters by 18 months.

  9. Focus on the vowels first, that way it's easier to put whole words together.
