i'm 26 yrs old, 5'9", and 160 lbs. 3 months ago i had 19.7% body fat, according to my body fat scale. So i started running/jogging 3 miles a day, 35-45 minutes, 5 times a week. Also, 3 sets of 20 pushups, benchpresses, and started taking whey protein 2-3 times a day. Now I have 15.3 % body fat but I still weigh and look the same. Any suggestions on what exercises i should be doing to tone up my upper body?

  1. Drew has the right idea:  you have to work your stomach and lose weight.  Although I will suggest that you do not need nor should you work your abs every day.  3-4 times a week is plenty.  i would add in some basic leg exercises as well.

  2. Work your abs do crunches, sit ups, try putting your legs horizontal while doing chin ups. But you need to loose enough weight to actually see the muscle even if you can feel it.

Make your self a progress chart.

In the first week do 10 crunches and 15 sit ups twice a day

In the second week do 10 crunches and 15 sit ups three times a day

In the third week do 10 crunches and 15 sit ups four times a day

In the forth week do 20 crunches and 30 sit ups four times a day

In the fifth week do 30 crunches and 40 sit ups three times a day

In the sixth week do 40 crunches and 50 sit ups two times a day

Then keep doing 30 crunches and 40 sit ups once a day to keep your workout going
