  1. I agree that a taxi is best. Ask your hotel that you stay at. They can sometimes arrange a shuttle or a taxi to pick you up at a certain time. The shuttles are usually a cheaper, fixed price as well.

  2. taxis for SURE.  don't rent a car.  the risk you assume is unbelieveable...you don't want to mess with it.  taxis are pretty cheap...i recommend settling on a price BEFORE you get in the taxi...unless a meter is being used.  you could also take the bus, but that's a lot to handle for some people.  i personally don't think it's worth it just to save a few bucks.  taxis are readily available, easy to use, safe, and affordable.

  3. cabo san lucas is pretty expensive i was just there like two weeks ago and i think its more expensive than here in the US but yeah taxis are the best way to go but settle on the price before you get on oh and bargain with them because usually they blow out their prices and they will rip you out real easy so yeah be careful!!

    goodluck with your trip =]

  4. I disagree with the other two answerers.

Taxis in Cabo are extremely expensive.

You can easily make your way around the area you are staying on foot, or by taking a local bus (they look like school buses and say urbano on them) they cost 50 pesos to get your around town.  Most of the drivers and their money takers can figure out where you want to go even if you don't speak Spanish.  You can also get the larger transit buses (that look like greyhounds) between towns (the two main towns are called Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo) they are about 20 minutes apart and connected by the corridor highway.  Look for the bus shelters all along the highway and you can get on and off easily.

I would only take a taxi if I were planning to stay out and party all night at the clubs.  the bars close at 4am and the buses stop running at midnight.

Renting a car is an option if you plan to drive back and forth between towns alot, or go to Todos Santos or La Paz.  You don't need one if you are staying in town.

    Have an excellent vacation!
