Whats the best way to try to put on liquid eyeliner? ?

im a newbie and i cant even put on pencil eyeliner but i LOVE the look of liquid liner.. i bought some "glitter" eyeliner to learn with since i wont look like frankenstein if i s***w it up, but what is the best way of trying to put it on? close your eye, hold down the end, then what? inside to out? one stroke? go half way until you run out then try again? thanks

  1. Very slowly and carefully, at least until you get the hang of it. Practice drawing perfectly symmetrical eyes on a piece of paper before hand to get the hang of it. Always use the hand that is on the same side as the eye you are applying the makeup to. Inside to out is best. Also, it is best to make one straight and gentle stroke instead of many little ones. Get the liner as close to your eye as you can without it actually being IN your eye and be sure to complement it with a good mascara as well. Good luck.

  2. Rest your elbow on your dressing table so your hand doesn't shake and also try using a liner pen which gives the same end result but is much easier to use I think!

Starting from the inside, keep as close to your lash line as possible and make little strokes until you reach the outside. Sweep out a little further from your eye to get the cat's eye effect which is really nice (depending on whether it's day or night, alter the size of the cat's eye at the side). If the line isn't thick enough, go again until you have your perfect thickness, then using a cotton bud dipped in eye make-up remover, correct any smudges or mistakes. Sweep from under the outside of your eye up to make sure that it flicks upwards and looks great. I do my pencil eyeliner in pretty much the same way by the way!

  3. this is what i suggest to liquid eyeliner novices:

instead of using the applicator that comes with standard liquid eyeliner try an angled brush. get some liner off the applicator with the angled brush and make dash marks that connect on your lash line. extend the dashes outward to make the cat-eye effect. also, so it doesn't point downward, take a makeup sponge with a little lotion on it and start at the outer corner of your eye but underneath, swipe up and out towards the top of your ear. that will create a winged effect.
