This is one of my pet hates. Girls who moan at guys, any guys, me sometimes for leaving he toilet seat up. It's one of them useless little arguments which does nothing. Really , has anyone heard of girls leaving the toilet seat up for guys?? Why don't they do that? Maybe I'll start moaning at them for not doing that...

  1. When guys learn to aim properly and/or wipe the spray off the underside of the seat, I'll stop complaining when they leave it up.  Until then, I really don't want to touch it.

  2. Leaving the toiler seat up is a big sign that you are the man of the house.  Whenever I visit a family, after a guy uses the bathroom, I usually say I need to go to see if the seat was left up or not.  If it is up, it is a man dominated house, if it is down the men are whipped there.

If you have a girl that wants it down, odds are her mom whipped her father.  I told girls that they either need to give in or I'm gone.  And yes, I have left a fair amount of hen-peckers-in-training over this.

  3. wow.

    this is like, totally random.

well,. i have four brotehrs. so i really HATE IT when they leave the seat up.

    why??

    because I FALL IN!.

    duh.

    haha

  4. Well, as I see this situation, women shouldn't complain. However, it is a common courtisey for a man to put the seat down, but it would also be nice if the women put the seat up for men. But hey, if you wake up in the middle of the night and you have to do #2, men are in a bad spot just the same as women, so everyone wins if the seat is down. And the bad thing about putting the toilet seat and the lid down is what if you don't look before you sit and you really have to go,like uncontrolably... that would be a big mess.

I think that women shouldn't complain, cause it is unfair to the men, but It is just common courtisey if men put down the seat, and It works out for both genders in one way or another...

  5. Trust me, when you grow up in a house full of women (a mother and 3 sisters), and the only other male in the household is your father (so you're outnumbered), you LEARN to leave the toilet seat down.

BTW, I'm not sure I could improve on Mia's explanation.

  6. Just say, "OK, let's all just close the lid."  That's the solution.

And the reason women don't like having the lid and seat in the UP position is, you get up in the middle of the night, you're half asleep, go in the bathroom, sit down, and literally FALL butt-first into a bowl of water.  That's like a nightmare.  If everybody in the household gets used to closing seat AND lid... then this doesn't happen.

  7. they can fall in and drown duh

  8. how would you like to find a used tampon on the seat next time you have to go lift it to go? It's the same thing.

  9. I never actually moan about it...but this is how I see it.  Women do both their *ahem* stuff sitting down.  When the seat is left up, we fall in.  Not a happy thought.  I suppose you men could have the same argument though..since we leave the seat DOWN all the time...*sigh* but I digress.

  10. at my in-laws' place I just use the sink.

    (kidding)

  11. It's gross seeing inside the toilet. It really should be closed at all times.

  12. I don't see the big deal. If I put it down my dad and my brother put it back up. When I go I put it back down. In that time it took about .5 seconds to move it up or down. Women/girls who complain about that need to get over themselves or invest in "him and her" toilets.

  13. Try leaving it up and then you sit on it in the middle of the night while you are half asleep and then you might understand a bit better :-)

Not only is it cold but we end up sitting on your splatter YUCK!!

Also it just looks bad and women like everything to look nice. Yes we are picky lol.

  14. It's not a big deal.  Its called common courtesy.   Think about it this way.  Think of an annoying habit your wife or girlfriend has (hanging her pantyhose on the shower rod or leaving her makeup all over the bathroom sink) .

Now say you asked her repeatedly to  stop or to change it and she continues maybe even doing it on purpose.  Would that irritate you.

This is the same thing its called common courtesy. When you put down the seat it makes her think you listen and care.

Now if you clean the bathroom I am sure she would not complain as much.

  15. Well while I understand your gripe I feel that it is just courteous to put the seat down. I don't think my wife should have to lower the seat. If anyone is going to inconvenienced, it should not be my wife. It is just common courtesy to take the inconvenience on myself and not pass it to my wife.

  16. I feel you man.

Is it really that hard for her to put down a toilet seat.

    I mean come on.

    My opinion.

Woman find petty things to bitc@ about.

    Isn't that wonderful?

  17. It looks disgusting it is cheap and guys need to stop b*tching and moaning and put the toilet seat how they found it, down. End.

  18. I totally agree with you.  We have had this conversation at my house (married 9 years) I would much rather he lift it up and forget to put it down then when he is too lazy to lift it and spritzes on the seat, lol

no big deal if he puts it down or I have to either way someone has to do it

women stop your nagging already, lol

  19. I have no big deal it being up the only big deal is having to touch it to put it down EWW and yeah that would be kind of funny aha

  20. closing is a cool alternative.  But ask a woman if she would mind leaving the lid up after she uses it, and see what response you get.  Now, heres a question, would you do somehthing for someone that flat out refuses to do the same or similar for you???  As for falling in?  well, I sit down to drop the kids off at the pool, and i have never had any problems falling in.  Here's a clue, pay attention, and look where you sit!

  21. I've never understood the whining about the toilet seat position myself. I grew up with a father and a brother. All you have to do is put the seat down when it's your turn to use the bathroom. It isn't complicated. I guess it's too much work for some women. I don't know.

  22.      Just leave it up.

  23. You are not going to win this one.  It's just something guys do for girls.

    Just do it.

  24. In a clean-looking bathroom, the seat AND lid are both down. I have been taught that leaving one or both up is an eyesore. My dad and brothers, go by this as well.

I have only girls, but I get on their case if the lid is left up, so even if I had boys everyone would be held by the same standards.

  25. As a woman, it pisses me off that other woman actually make a big deal out of this.

Ladies it's not that hard to look before you sit, and to put the seat down yourself. And if your worried about germs, you should washing your hands after you go anyways.

  26. Because when a guy goes to pee in the toilet after a few too many or before he is fully awake he isn't in any danger of falling in (only missing horribly).  Been there, done that, and it isn't a pleasant experience.

  27. Because, when you flush the toilet, with the lid up, microscopic particles of urine and f***s get blown into the room, settling on all surfaces, including your drinking glass, and your toothbrush.. you also end up inhaling the particles, if you want to breath that stuff, then go right ahead.

  28. i'm a girl and it doesn't bother me too much. i don't like touching the seat, but i probably hate it more when the lid of the toilet is down as well as seat. makes me think something really bad went down in there...

  29. It's not a big deal, women just need excuses to get mad. Women have like a "pissed off" quota that they need to meet before they go to bed at night. If they haven't had enough legitimate reasons to get mad before the day is done they purposefully seek out inane reasons to get mad.

  30. We shouldn't have to touch the nasty toilet seat to put it down. If you guys could aim better, you wouldn't have to put it up in the first place. It's just common decency and hygiene.
