Whats the biggest give away to somebody lieing?

The "not being able to look you in the eye" is c**p. Many people have been liars all their life and can do it to someone's face.

First off, if they get mad at you for whatever you're asking, that's a sign that they're hiding something. If they fumble with things in their hands, or on the opposite, stand clear from you with their arms folded, that could be a sign.

Another sign is if their story is too detailed. Also, listen to see if they mention another person: they probably won't, because you might go to verify their story. Or if they do, like "I called my mom on my lunch break" you could be like, "Oh how is she? I've been meaning to call her." and if the person says something like "Oh she's busy she won't be able to talk", that could be a hint.

Talking really quiet, or practically shouting are other signs.

It's not so much about the body language but what they actually say

for example true 'i'm allergic to carrots'

lie 'i'm allergic to carrots since I was 6, make me ill'

They often go into alot more detail than normal or needed

Some people won't look at you...they can't seem to get their story straight - it sounds like they are making it up as they go along because they can't give you an answer right away.  They become defensive.  Some people make certain facial expressions, they fidget around and look nervous.  Some people give themselves away because they forget that they told a lie so they get caught by telling on themselves........then, there are those who can lie with a straight face - they are so convincing and so good at lying that you would never know because they cover their tracks well.

Right, not staring you in the face when they're talking to you, mumbling or slurring words, sometimes people get kinda red, maybe if they seem pre-occupied, my sister plays with her nails.
