  1. Big Brown is by a stallion who stands here in Kentucky named Boundary. He was recently pensioned but he is a delight. Boundary is by Danzig.

    Jenny

  2. Here's a link to Big Brown's pedigree page. The best-known horses it traces him back to, outside of the incredible Northern Dancer, are Native Dancer and Bold Ruler on one side and Sword Dancer on the other.

  3. He is a son of Boundary a son of Danzig. His Dam, Mien, is a daughter of Nureyev.

    or in shorthand he is

Big Brown -  Boundary x Mien (Nureyev)

His is linebred to a number of great horses

He is 3x3 to the great Northern Dancer,

    He is 3x4 to Damascus

He is 4x5 to Round Table

His female family is Number 5, from the Carpet Slipper branch.

  4. By Boundary, out of Mien. Strong lines from Northern Dancer in there only a few generations back.

Also, in case nobody else noticed, he has a small strain of Man o' War from Crafty Admiral, who was himself a very prominent sire.
