Whats the cause of a stiff clutch pedal?

I have a 2000 Acura Integra.

Sometimes the clutch pedal stiffens up so that it becomes more difficult to press it down when shifting.

Anyone know what the issue is?

  1. The cable is worn out or if is a hydraulic clutch fluid might be low or need repair good luck

  2. check fluid level....if ok.  clutch may just be shot....they usually last 75K although some go 100 to 125K if u drive nice, nice

  3. Could be a dry throwout bearing as well. This can be checked by putting the car on a lift and checking the amount of force needed to open the clutch using the arm coming out of the clutch instead of the linkage. An Acura dealer will have the proper tool.
