  1. Being a 5 handicap at 14 years old is really impressive.  Like "ixnaytim" said, there is probably more opportunity in golf just because you could work at a course as a pro/assistant.  You're still young so you have time to figure things out.  Just follow whichever you enjoy more.  Becoming a pro at anything is extremely difficult.  With golfing, you would have to pass Q-School, which is know as the 5th Major because it's so difficult to make it through.  Even if you do make it through, you only have eligibility for the following season, unless you finish in the top 125 on the money list.  I'm not trying to put you down, but just inform you as to what the future may hold.  I hope this helps.

  2. to be honest i think those other two are full of it, 5 handicap is pretty good for 14, that is if you are actually a 5 handicap and not cheating yourself. But since theyre  both during the same season thats going to be pretty much impossible, when i played in hs we left school as early as 9am for some matches, twice a week. i dont think that leaves much time for baseball. But if you are talented you should be able to drop to scratch fairly quickly if you have a good coach or are taking lessons regularly. If you can be shooting under par consistently by the end of hs you could have a very good chance of playing in college, and then going pro.

  3. slim to none.

  4. dont count on going pro

  5. bad odds of you going pro sorry. but both sports are the same season so it would be hard to play both. ask the coaches and see if you could work something out but if not do whatever you like to play the best. if you want to be a pro golfer go for golf. i am not saying you are not good enough its just not many people go pro but if you worked hard at it you could. but do whatever you love most cause bad odds of doing both.

  6. You have a better chance to make a career out of golf. Baseball is all or nothing. Golf you can work at a course, give lessons, build clubs, ETC. You wont be turning pro if you are in high school. Your best shot will be to try after college. See if you can make that team first. Don't drop either. Play golf in the winter, baseball in the summer, and both on your free time.

  7. dont listen to volcom or snip....they sound jealous cuz they dont have a change, so they want to put down others hopes.  If you are 14 and a 5 handicap, get you teacher that you are comfortable with and actually helps you, and they will help your game improve.  good luck man!

  8. It really is up to you but I had the same situation and i took golf because I like more peaceful sports. If you want to run a lot and get ready to get mad pick  baseball. But if you want a more peaceful and less tempered sport pick golf but both sports you make a lot of money. P.S. 5 handicap is really good for 14 years old, but I'm a 11 handicap and I'm ten years old.
