Question:

Whats the cheapest car insurance for a car I barely drive?

I'm a 26 year old male in Florida driving a 2002 Chevy Impala, never had an accident in my life or any tickets on the record, totally safe driving record, yet Geico is still charging me $650 a year for insurance, have a bi-annual payment due early next month and I feel like i'm getting ripped off. I only drive this car like an average of 5-10 miles a day, some days not at all, so theres virtually ZERO chance of me getting into an accident ever, so are there any insurance companies that will charge me less considering how little I actually drive this car? like a miles-per-day rate or something for cars that barely get driven yet are still legally required to be insured?

  1. Some companies give a low mileage discount for drivers that drive less than 5000 miles per year.  There is always a chance of getting in to an accident evev if you are driving close to home.

  2. I believe Progressive issues a GPS and can bill by the mile.

Problem with your thinking....most accidents, your fault or not, happen within minutes from home.

    Think about that.

  3. I suggest you to search the cheapest car insurance at Geico and AllState.

  4. Concerned, I suggest you find a local auto insurance agent to assist you. Since I live in Massachusetts I can't recommend an agent in Florida, but here is an resource that can help you. http://www.usinsuranceadvisor.com/Auto-I...

    Good Luck!

  5. For Florida you have a bargain basement price, but if you think it's too high call some independent agents in your area for quotes.  independent agents represent several companies and quote them all for you with you making just one phone call.

  6. Allstate is pretty good I had them up until I moved and once I get another car I will be going backHad them for 6 months and was paying 120 a month. At the time I was 19 years old with 89 car and a am 20 and its still pretty cheap. Also I wasn't on my parents insurance and it was in my name.

  7. I've gone through the same thing -- still a bit painful, here is the resource help me a lot.http://carinsurance.expertsupport.info/a...

  8. See this http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html take the quote, they'll come back with prices from different insurers in your area. It's very quick and free of charge.

But to find a cheap price you should get several quotes, do some legwork till something better will come along.
