If you can go at short notice, you can get some great deals from agents - look up ITV teletext p. 228 a few weeks ahead of when you want to go. Also, repositioning cruises (when ships leave the Med at the end of summer and head for the Caribbean, vice versa in spring) are often great value, but they do have lots of days at sea.

In general though, before you buy a "cheap" cruise, make sure what's included: some companies look cheap but you pay for all sorts of extras aboard, even a cup of coffee - in fact, with easyCruise, I think you even have to pay for meals. Conversely, some companies look dear but include tips and shore excursions, worth possibly hundreds of pounds. "Cheapest" may not work out that way in the end.
