  1. Try at&t's pay as you go.

  2. I had the same query a while back as i didn't need a new phone. I am with O2 and rung them up as i do believe that a contract can give you better deals like 200 free minutes/texts. Basically i have got with O2  is their sim only package. I get  200 free minutes and 400 free texts per month. I pay £15 per month (via direct debit) but don't have to be with them for 12/18 months. It is equivalent to pay and go but not paying extortionate prices per minute like pay as you go.

My mum for example has already spent £40 this month on pay as you go...ridiculous!

Hope this helps....and save the pennies!!!

  3. If you're sure you want PaYG then the new ASDA tariff will be cheapest, but you'll have to wait a couple of weeks for it to kick in. Currently ASDA operate a system where the first 3 minutes are 16p then all further calls that day are 8p, but from September 1, all calls will be at 8p and texts at 4p. I believe that will make it the UK's cheapest. You also get a discount for topping up at an ASDA store. Only snag is they charge for picking up voice mail.

An alternative is a 6 month contact from Three. For £15 per month (which worked out less than I was spending on PaYG) you get a free handset (I did this and sold the phone on eBay and used my existing handset) and 300 mins/texts, plus another 300 mins to other Three users.

If you use the referer link below you also get £30 credit added to your account once its opened, so basically you would get 6 months of calls for £60 and a free handset to use or sell
