  1. If you book early you can fly to Amsterdam or Eindhoven and catch a train (or bus and train in the case of Eindhoven) from there.

London Stansted and Luton are both not too far from Essex.

The train ticket will cost € 28,60 per single trip, from Schiphol.

Alternatively, you can catch the ferry from Harwich to Hook of Holland and catch the train from there, http://www.stenaline.co.uk/ferry/routes/...

You will need to add € 29,50 for each single trip, (only one day returns,) unless you get the offer to any station in the Netherlands.

Harwich is easy to reach from most of Essex, as long as you can reach a train station.

Check if you can make it on the same day as you arrive in the Netherlands, as not all ferry services arrive early enough to make the longish journey.
