Whats the cheapest way to make a simple backyard patio..just big enuff to put a patio table, a grill?

Just dig out a flat piece of ground of about 100mm and pour in concrete. You can float it to get it real smooth. You rent the floater from a plant hire company. You can also colour the concrete and paint it if you want.

paver patio is the cheapest way to go. I even went to a brick yard and went to there junk pile. They gave me there seconds for free. It made for a very nice antique paver walkway.

Pouring a slab is certainly a valid suggestion, but Pavers would likely be as inexpensive as anything you do.

   At 16 inch square, 3 pavers equates to 4 ft.. You can do the math for any size choice.

   Probably best to grade the area, remove grass, OR lay over substantial weed barrier, then sand, then the pavers, even framing the pavers with other Garden type brick or stone.

   A Bar might be something you fabricate, and we can't know how elaborate you want it to be,,,OR just buy an outdoor bar from a home and garden dept. in a major Home Imp. Store.
