I think it's called "Rayleigh scattering". Something about longer wavelength light and shorter wavelength light and beign absorbed by gas molecules and then it get's scattered. so that's why it APPEARS blue.

It's whatever color you feel like. The sky is forever changing and there are millions of colors out there. it can be sky blue, light blue, royal blue, navy blue, ect. Let's not forget rainbows, nighttime, and when there's a sunset! Fog, haze, overcast, clouds and lots of other things affect the sky. So it's whatever you want. You could even call the sky brown because maybe it was brown somewhere at some point.
