Whats the current developments in the production of electric vehicles?

A company called Tesla has already made an all electric car, but its a sports coup and costs over 100,000 dollars.  They are currently developing an economy version that is estimated to cost around 60,000 dollars.  Re-edit: here's the companies site, it has vehicle specs on the front page:  http://www.teslamotors.com/

Also, Dyson, the guy who makes vacuum cleaners and other electric appliances is trying to adapt his patented electric motor to propel a vehicle.

That's all I know of off the top of my head.

No production in the near future. The hold-up is a battery that will last more than 30-50 miles. They wouldn't sell any here in the Rocky Mountains with what's available.
