What is the Length cut off for a knife? Im just wondering. When is a knife considered not a knife?

  1. For carrying it around with you?

    Um, I'd figure that anything with a blade longer than six inches gets to at least be called a dagger, because at that point you're not planning on doing anything with that knife but killing someone, probably.  Unless you're actually going fishing, hunting, whatever. Then it's still a knife. Up to about eight inches.

    anything as long or longer than your arm, is definitely a sword though.

    I don't think there's any real classification, but I don't think I've ever seen anything but a kitchen knife get up to ten-twelve inches, at the most.


  2. if its bigger than your hand it becomes illegal  a knife has the average  length of about 5 in  but daggers are 8-12 in  just ask some one at a camping store

  3. If it's bigger then your palm,(the blade) it's illegal.
