Ok i know the times when a women doesn't pray.....

But, the general consensus here is that, men MUST pray in the mosque and women don't have too....also they only need to pray once a day (but all 5 prayers).

(oh and i'm in america, but most of these people are off-the-boat, so this was what they learned in their home countries.....and its very multi-ethnic, so this isn't the understanding form a single demographic).

I'm not even talking about "being busy fulfilling the household duties)....i'm talking about they just want to continue their conversation or sitting around watching tv.

This just doesn't seem right to me.

  1. My darling bruce, Women pray All 5 times a day, but shia women pray 3 times a day but all 5 prayers. So i think thats where you get confuzzled. The best place for a woman to pray is in her home. And Jumaa prayers in the masjid is wajib for men but not for women.

  2. women can indeed go to the mosque there's actually quite a  few women fighting for the right to do so. the most common reason would be that it's more convienient to stay at home. It's not like they aren't allowed most of the masjid's around here just say there's not enough room. we both have to pray 5 times a day. and to be honest i didn't quite understand the rest of what you said.

i think men going to the mosque more so then women is more tradition than anything else. mosque is for muslims. male/female shouldn't come in to it.

  3. Both men and women have to pray  5 times a day and pray each salah in its specific time.

It is wajib on men to go to the masjid, women receive most reward if they pray in their own house.

I have never met a women who waits or combines her   daily salah into one. Don't know who you are talking about.

  4. sorry bruce, thats completely wrong. there are many reasons why women arent obligated to pray at the masjid, and we absolutely do NOT combine prayers (only the shia do that). men only HAVE to pray in the masjid on friday too btw.. but regarding the women , it is better for a woman to pray at home and stay out of view of any non mahram men, its just nearer to piety that way. there are a lot of dangers for a woman outside of her house, especially in a society like the americans have. women usually have at least one child to take care of, i have 3 personally, and i know that there is no way that i could make it to the masjid every friday for salah, my kids are too loud..sometimes it rains, sometimes its just too cold (or too hot).. a man is just a man. he works, and he goes to the masjid.. he doesnt have to be burdened day in and out with the kids like we do, he doesnt have to stay home and cook and clean and do the laundry like we do. enough said?

  5. agree with 2nd answer

  6. my answer would be the same as islam4life's answer..

  7. hi bruce

  8. Rasoolullah(SAW) sounded a note of warning to all Muslim men and women, that if they gave up or did not perform the five times daily Salaat without fail, their conduct would be associated with that of the unbelievers.

"That which separates a believer man and women from infidelity is simply the five times daily Salaat.

"The man and women has no share in Islam, who does not offer the five times daily Salaat at the correct times."

    In the Quran: 29:45:

"Verily Salaat prevents one from shameful and forbidden things: and the remembrance of ALLAH is greatest."

The ignominy and disgrace of Muslim defaulters in the five times daily Salaat, has been aptly described in the Qur'ãn (LXVIII : 42)
