So if I told you the same person who wants to watch my child has beaten and attacked my dog is dependent on beer and snorts coke. and that this person drinks every day to the point she can barley stand and will fall over everything and gets violent and mean. You all will tell me I am nuts to let my child stay with them or to be near them unsupervised, and that I should not let them even hold the child.

But why is it I say its my inlaws who beat the dog use coke, and my mil is dependent on beer. That on days she dont work she is wasted by midafternoon. You all say that I should not stop her from seeing and holding the child.

How does a complete stranger and family differ????? If they are dangerous they are dangerous are they not no matter if related or not.... please if someone can explain this please do.

  1. If that were my Mother in Law she would never be around my child unsupervised, stoned, or drunk. Never! First of all I don't think it's the right environment for your child, whether they would be in any physical danger or not they don't need to be exposed to this type of behavior.

  2. Whoever said that is a sick and twisted person.

I don't care who the h**l these people are, they are not to be around children, period.

  3. There is no difference.  I would keep my child away, far away, from her as possible, and NEVER leave your child alone with her. Until she gets help and is clean and sober for a at least a year!

Congratulations on your first baby coming soon!!

  4. It shouldn't matter, regardless of what the person is. Although--- a family member who sincerely cares about the child, regardless of whether they are drunk or not will in the back of their mind always, always, always have the best interest of the child in mind. It brings me back to one of my famous points, that no matter how drunk or high you may be, you always know what you are doing...and you always know when you re being stupid and making mistakes. Therefore, a family member PROBABLY is less likely to do something stupid and/or purposely make a mistake with your child. With that said, either way, someone under the influence, unless completely necessary should never, ever, be chosen to watch your child... Which I'm sure you already know otherwise you would not have asked the question, hahaha ;)

  5. Do not let her watch your child. Tell your husband why and tell him that you do not trust them to be near the boy when he's born due to their drug addiction.  I don't know why anyone would want their children to be around someone like that in any circumstance, family or not.

My brother is an alcholic and his fiancee is a drug addict. They have never been alone with my children and I will never allow them to be.  Most addicts don't have the best interest of anyone in their hearts; they have the best interest of getting more wasted.

  6. Both choices = no no.

id prefer my kid in daycare and i dont even believe in letting someone else watch your kid unless you HAVE to. and i'm only 17 nor do i even have a kid!

  7. What? That person should NEVER, EVER be around your child, regardless of whether they are family or not.
