Whats the difference between 1x an EV service?

on my phone, i have to different service types. one is EV and the other is 1x. whats the difference??

  1. EV stands for EV-DO which is in other words the internet, EV is a separate signal from 1X. 1X is the Voice signal, so if you do not use the internet on the phone you can ignore the EV signal.
