  1. There are so many differences!!!!

MY answer is in addition to the rest

-AFL is an outdoors (well mostly) sport, played onn a grass field and Netball is an indoors sport played on a wooden court.

-AFL Fields are oval shaped while Netball courts are rectangular.

-Players can move freely in an AFL match but there are restrictions in Netball (like defenders can only be in their defensive third of the court)

-AFL players can score from any spot on the field (within reason) and any player on the field can add to their team's score but in Netball, you can only score from the arc's and only 2 players on the team can shoot for/score goals.

-A netball goal is worth one point; An AFL goal is worth 6.

-In AFL you can still get something for missing or hitting the post(s) (1 point) in Netball if you miss you get no score.

-At the recognised elite levels of the sports, Netball is played by Women and AFL is played by Men. (Though, anyone can play either sport).

-AFL draws larger crowds than Netball

-In AFL there are 3 field umpires and a total of 7 umpires (or 6 in local matches) officiating while a match in in play, in Netball there's only one (not 100% sure on that, but i think it's right)

-AFL has 4 quarters of about 30mins, Netball has 2 halves of ?? minutes

well there was one more that I could think of, but I got distracted by my brother and forgot.

If I think of it I'll edit my answer.

  2. OMG are you that stupid!? no offense about my remark, but ive never hear of someone who didn't know the difference between netball and football. netball is a bitchy girl sport and fottball is the greatest sport ever invented!

  3. about $1,000,000 a year

  4. are you serious?????

mmmk well...netball is seen as a girls game..afl as a guys...course both can play. Netball is supposedly "non contact" but i play and there is DEFINITELY cotact....jus not as much. AFL is played on an oval...with grass...netball on a court indoor or outdoor...similar to basketball. cant run with a netball. dont kick a netball or handpass it, dont throw a footy. there are restrictyions in where players can go in netball. footy has 4 posts for scoring, netball has a hoop like bball wihtout th back board...umm yeah

  5. netball is probably tougher

  6. a lot

  7. in afl you kick the ball

    in netball you dont

  8. Interestingly, there are some similarities (and I am not being smart) between netball, AFL and soccer.

They all switch play constantly, the aim in general play is to move the ball around to find a spare man/women to get the ball to. They are all about finding space - compared to the rugby codes they all require great skill rather than a flat nose and no neck..

Having watched what happened to Craig Wing and seeing the gutless response from the NRL officials, it seems obvious the aim of rugby league is to maim as many players as you can in 80 minutes.

  9. Netball is more entertaining

  10. no wise *** answers coming from a wise *** question, grow up little fella.

  11. Quite alot

  12. As if we can take this question seriously...pppfffftttt

  13. AFL is football and netball is not.

In AFL the ball used is not spherical; in netball it is.

There are many more differences but I will not list them.

  14. You can represent Australia playing netball.  You can't playing AFL
