  1. Grooveshark, in general, is a 'gray' market, in other words, not totally legal in the sense that it can easily be abused via sharing music or selling it when you don't have the rights to sell (referring to licensing here) and is not totally illegal in the sense that if I want to borrow a CD from my roommate for the day, then how can that be illegal? Grooveshark Lite is a browser-based version of Grooveshark that plays songs within the browser, i.e. Internet Explorer by using flash content. Grooveshark Lite is less invasive to your computer system as it does not 'install' a bunch of executables and DLLs, but rather runs via flash content within the browser. There are quite a few artists that have agreements w/ Grooveshark and a bunch that don't. It's a 'gray' market and it may go away if future intellectual property legislation becomes even more strict. It is a very new service and probably has some bugs to be worked out. I was reviewing the site this evening and it worked about 90% of the time. A couple times it started to hang and cause 100% cpu on my machine, and my computer is otherwise a very fast reliable machine.
