  1. dvd out to input on reciever!

  2. DVD to input, TV and speakers to output.

It's all about the signal. The signal (sound and picture) originates at the DVD player. The signal has to leave the DVD player (go "out" or output) and then enter the surround system (go "in" or input) then inside the surround system, the signal gets split between the picture and the sound. The picture part of the signal goes out (output) of the surround system and into the TV (input). The sound portion of the signal goes out (speaker output) of the surround system and into the speakers (input).

Signal flows like water, into a device, and back out again, until you reach the end. In the case of consumer electronics, the end is the TV screen and the speakers.

  3. It's all about the direction of the signal.

An electronic component usually has at

least one set of INPUT connections and

    one set of OUTPUT connections.

The INPUT connections are used to re-

ceive a signal from another component

    or source.

The OUTPUT connections are used to

send a signal to another component.

  4. hello .  All   Connections on  the back  of DVDs  are outputs  Video out  and audio out  unless you have a recording DVD player as  they have both  inputs and outputs .  For your DVD Connect  the VIDEO outputs from your DVD player to your Television. and the audio  to your Amp . Audio can be three different connections  Analogue (good ) (coaxial and optical) best    DVD players can   have four different outputs and not all players have these connections DVD Player Yellow = Okay    S Video = good   Component = better  and HDMI  is best  .hope this helps
