  1. In rugby league the team that recieves the ball after kick off have 6 plays of the ball to create and score points,if the team that is attacking use up the 6 tackles or plays the oppositon then get handed the ball and they  have 6 plays.IT carrys on for 80mn.The scrum in league is more of a restart in play as the league scrum the opposite scrum doesn;t contest the ball.

Rugby is continuous ,the teams have 80mn to score as many points as they can and only stop for infringements or if the ball goes out.The scrum in rugby is where the two teams stake their claim for superiority and generally where both teams muscle up.WATCH NEW ZEALAND ALL BLACKS AT THE RUGBY WORLD CUP in FRANCE on tv and THE WARRIORS in the N.R.L-the toughest league competition in the world ...Good luck

  2. ok the basic thing is they are different codes of rugby just like afl is different to them both. The rules differ as does the scoring honestly the best way to see the difference would be to watch a match of each other then that head to http://www.playrugbyleague.com/league/ru... where you can veiw the rules for rugby league or http://aru.rugby.com.au/community_rugby/... for union both sites have lots of links to help you learn about them :) gl

  3. Different codes, Rugby union is being played at the mo in the world cup, its a lot more free flowing in terms of play and a lot more technical in terms of rucks (player goes to ground & the ball is recycled and reused) and mauls (player stays on his feet and other bind around and drive forward without going to ground). there are also more set pieces, the lineout is more complicated and the scores are different (drop goal is worth 3 in union and 1 in league)

league is more physical, every time the play is tackled play stops, the player stands up and rolls the ball through his legs and game goes on. there is no need for a ruck in league. You have 6 attempts (6 tackles from the opposition) to score if you do not manage to score in this time the ball gets turned over and the other team have 6 attempts to score at you.

Thats basically it in a nut shell, if you want more info try wikipedia.org for more
