  1. Well protestant religion began with a man named Martin Luther in Medieval Europe. They didnt like the way the catholic Church abused the funds that followers were paying so they protested against the church and the bible ( hence the name protestant). They broke off and formed their own religion and interpreted the bible in their own way and lived life the way they chose and not according to the catholic church at the time

  2. Stop with the stupid questions....PLEASE!

I'll take the 2 points on this occasion however.

  3. The break with the catholic church began with Henry V111 of England. At that time Ireland was under British rull. The Catholic Church did not allow divorce and Henry wished to divorce his 2nd wife in order to wed his 3rd. The church did not allow him so he broke away from the Pope and formed the anglican church which is now refered to The Church of England or Ireland. That is the basis of the split.

Presbyterianism and Methodism are more like the evengelical churches in america

You are right is saying that we are all celts and yes the "Catholic church" is still the main church in Ireland.

The "Scots-Irish" mainly live in the Co Down and Co Antrim areas of ireland and mainly Presbyterian as this is the Main church in Scotland and this area in Ireland is where they settled.

Over the generations the 3 different factions are have inter bread to give the Irish people their unique personalities and the welcoming attitude that they give to others

There are still some who would like to keep the devisions alive for their own reasons such is irish politics.
