Whats the difference between Sli and Crossfire?

Is is simply that Sli is Nvidia and Crossfire Ati?

That's it. But, I think that you can do three way SLI, which is three cards, and Crossfire can only do two. But, I'm not sure.

They are both systems which allow the seamless use of multiple graphics cards.

SLi was developed by Nvidia and Crossfire is for Ati.
