Whats the difference between a DWI and a DWAI?

im going to apply for a job for CSA Kuwait, they say i cant have a DUI in the past five years, i have had a DWAI does anyone know if thats a disqualifier?

  1. I think the difference is based on drugs or alcohol. I know some states have DWI and DUI.   I am not sure what DWAI is....

    DWI is Driving While Intoxicated... which means that the person is drunk, by alcohol.

    DUI is Driving Under the Influence... which means the person is under the influence, or alcohol, drugs, other substances or a combination of any of them.   Example,,,, taking medicine that says do not operate machinery... you can get a DUI....    it is a "legal" term

    Most police use DUI,,, unless the person is totally wasted.... and the penalties, can differ.

    If you have not been in trouble for the past 5 years, you should be ok....
