Yeah, theres no real difference as far as i can tell, only one is in the afternoon and a show or like the actual performance is at night..

Is there a real difference apart from that?

Thanks. Raa.

  1. nope no difference some times there is a small price difference but usually no, just the time

  2. While the performance itself will be the same, a matinee is considered a slightly more casual affair. You're aren't expected to be quite as dressed-up for a matinee performance. (You should still get dressed up a little, but you'd be be more appropriate in, say, a sundress than an evening gown.)

  3. French words that invaded English is the root cause.

An evening party is often referred to as a soiree. "soir" being the French word for evening.

A matinee is something earlier in the day. "Matins" can mean anything from midnight church services, to dawn services, to a play, music, or other event, held earlier than usual.(Earlier than the evening performance.)

    Good Luck/bon chance
