Question:

Whats the difference between a NiMh and NiCd battery?

I dont know if thats the whole name of the battery or if they are two different kinds or if there is two types of NiMh batteries PLEASE HELP!!

  1. nicd means nickle cadmium and nimh means nickle metal hydride.  The latter is the latest and better battery.  Most battery companies have excellent websites that explain better.


  2. to put it simply, NiMh are ones that can last longer, are more expensive, and you can charge your battery when you like. NiCd are cheap, and if you charge the battery at half full, you've just choped half its electricity capacity.

  3. The chemicals are different.. Nimh means nickel metal hydride and Nicd stands for nickel cadium
