Whats the difference between a ethernet connection and a wireless connection?

ok i'm connection to a wireless signal and it says no signal.ok im on vacation we don't have wireless internet here.we have ethernet connection here.by the way we run verizon internet at home.so anyways im getting wireless internet from someone else in a condo near us but not that close.i am confused.when i plug in to our internet we have here on vacation it goes to local area connection.but.the thing is.i go to the internet and it says cannot display the page.and the other connection i have running through the dell card turns off and says wireless network connection radio disabled.yeah i know we dont have our internet by vz here.i dunno if it's ethernet or not.im just guessing.so can u explain to me y i plug in to our internet here on local area connection and im not getting any internet but when im off of our internet im getting the wireless internet from somene else no too far away?whats going on?

  2. Chances are you are getting a weak signal from someone else who might not be allowing you to route through there network.  You should try to disable your wireless network adapter and then try to re-enable your (wired) ethernet.

    To re-enable your wired ethernet, just disable and then enable.  You can also use the "repair" button.  The other thing you can try is open up a cmd window and run the following commands once your wireless is disabled:

    ipconfig /release *

    ipconfig /renew *
