A f**t is gas that escapes the colon through the r****m.

A burp is gas that escapes through the mouth.

There are gases in various parts of your body and they escape through various means ~ dissipating, escaping to name a couple.  f**t is a name given to a specific, erm, departure route.

It does not necessarily mean you have to p**p.  Toxins can build up after eating something that does not entirely agree with your body and these toxins are dispelled from the body in the form of gas, sometimes by burping, sometimes by farting.
