Whats the difference between a hdtv and a full hdtv?

  1. HDTV is 720P or better. Full HDTV refers to 1080p resolution. If your looking at TVs that are less than 50", look for a 720P set (it will save you some $ and you won't see any difference at normal viewing distances).

  3. hdtv is 720p and 1080i and fhdtv is 1080p

    720p is about 945,000 pixels

    1080i and 1080p is both over 2million pixels but 1080i shows them twice as slow as 1080p.

  4. I have to disagree with the "top contributor" as usual...  the difference between 720p and 1080 is noticeable on a 32" and definitely 40", unless you're 15 to 20 feet away or unless you need glasses.
