Been thinking about getting a new 22/24/26" LCD monitor for my pc as i am getting tired of my Dell ultrasharp 19" monitor.

Most that i have looked at seem pretty much alike but i have noticed that the occassional one looks like its got a sheet of glass covering the front,, and if my imagination isnt running wild,, am sure that they look sharper and more vivid ? ?

Can anyone tell me what the difference is,,and what the technical term is for this particular type of screen ? ?

Many thanks, kev

  1. Well, you either have glossy or matte. A glossy screen will make colors "pop" a bit more, but the downside will be light reflecting off the screen, which can be annoying if your pc in in direct sunlight or some other light source. Then the other option is matte, which I prefer. The colors won't pop like a glossy screen, but you won't have any problems with reflections.
