Whats the difference between a passport book and a passport card?

I am going to be traveling across Europe, do I need both?

and whats the difference between them, other than one is a book and one is a card?

  1. There is no difference, but the card can't be stamped. No, you don't need both, but I think that the airport people prefer the book.


  2. You will need the passport book for international air travel.

    The passport card is a substitutional document for the passport book and can be used only for travel in America, like going to Canada or Mexico.

    You will not need it for travel to Europe.
