Whats the difference between a tornadoe and a cyclone?

  1. A Tornado is a cyclone, but the term cyclone includes any rotation that has a rotation than runs opposite of a clock. (anti-cyclonic).     So any lower pressure area could be a cyclone, including hurricanes, tornadoes, or those winter storms like the Cape Hatteras Low.  Incidentally in Italy, the experience the Genoa Low.  The effect is the opposite in the southern hemisphere.
